atlee, according to you profile you have version 7.05. Which edition do you use?

Mouse mode currently set to 1. If set to 4, buttons
stop working completely.

That's the version. Which edition do you use, i.e. extra, commercial or professional.

This is the code for the main bitmap that works, but only for one
button. The manual implies that several buttons can be controlled from the main bitmap, but it doesn't work.

This code works:

PANEL* gpsfasetup_pan =
{
layer = 0;
bmap = gpsfasetup_bmp;
button(0,0,quitprogrambutt_bmp,NULL,NULL,quitprogram,NULL,NULL);
flags = SHOW;
}

If I try to add an additional button as follows:
button(0,0,runanalysisbutt_bmp,NULL,NULL,runanalysis,NULL,NULL);

The second button when clicked calls the original function (quitprogram) ignoring the function assigned (runanalysis).

You set both buttons to position 0,0? Then one button is over the other (same position) and you can click only one of them.

I tried to manipulate the position of the buttons using the x,y of button function in the main panel early on as per the manual. It doesn't work. So I have to use the panel position (x_pos,y_pos) of the individual button in order to move them. Moreover, if I try to use other than 0,0 for the button function x,y - the button will cease to function. Thus, the button function appears to control only the function and not the position of the button and I can only use one button in the main panel.

I'm not sure if that is your problem, but you should consider that buttons only work in the size of the panel that is by default defined by the size of its bitmap. So if your buttons are outside your bitmap (or if you have none, but I see that you do have one), then you have to increase panel.size_x and size_y to cover the whole area the buttons are in.
