First of all, before I break any rules... I would like to know if we are allowed to extract the textures from the standard.wad file. I assume we can since we get them with the purchase, and we can use them in wed for our levels and publish. But I would like to use them for some models aswell (too keep the look of certain objects in my project consistent).

I have tried a few programs like "wally wad editor", "doom wad reader", and "wad extractor", but they either don't recognize and cannot open the wad, or it opens and sees the file names but cannot extract because it dosn't recognize the texture format. I also tried an old trick that works with some games (like League of Legends before the rads client update), that is to change te eztension to .rar or .zip and open with a decompressor, but this diddnt work either.

So I have a few questions for you guys:

1- Do you know of any program able to extract files from 3dgs' .wad files?

2- If not, is there a way to use the textures in med like we do in wed?

3- Or another thought that came to my mind... Is there any way we can include these textures in our script via sed code and mabe use them with a shader or something?

4- any other solutions that come to mind?

Hi Carlos I'm not a 100% sure you can extract and use textures from Wad you should be able to though.
As for a program to extract the texture, you can do that in WAD by right
clicking and selcting save from the popup menu.

Thanks both of you! I was sooo centered on extracting them with external programs and had no idea wed had what I needed built in to it!
