OK - So last week, I got my Zorro platform connected to an FXCM demo account for testing the system with an actual account using the new Z1fx script. All looks like it's working properly, I'm using the stock Z1fx script that shipped with the most recent release.

Status box is green, server seems to be getting updated price data, but it's been up and running for 2 days and hasn't made any trades.

Is this normal? What's it waiting for - there has been great volatility on the Euro for like 2 days now - strong price movements etc. Why doesn't my Zorro want to pull the trigger?

Depends on your margin and risk setting. At the default setting, sometimes no trade is opened for several days, on other days 3 or 4 trades are opened simultaneously. If you use a low margin, it trades less frequently - you can then see "Skipped" messages in the message window. Zorro wanted to place a trade, but was prevented due to a too low margin or risk.

If you trade only one strategy, better use Z2fx, not Z1fx. Z2 opens trades more frequently, closes them earlier, and has less scary drawdowns.

Thanks JCL - I'm just trading demo money - so that's cool. I just cranked up the margin and risk bars and what do you know - it popped off a trade right away.
