Hello,
I wanted to make a main menu for my game. The Title should have the Overlay flag. But... thats the problem it doesn't works! Everything which should be transparent is black (r:0 b:0 g:0). But i see the black surfaces!
Here is the Code:

just off the top of my mind, I would try in main writing this:

Also, If that doesn't work, Is there an alpha channel on your image? (I'm sure I'll be corrected by someone else if I'm wrong but that is my thinking)

No... This doesn't work... Alpha Channel... I haven't put an alpha channel in it ... i think

But the lite-c workshop number 4 says that it is a flag for a panel

I would bet that the reason is the PNG image format. I guess that it is imported with a fullfilled alpha channel, so the OVERLAY flag has no effect over an already alpha channeled image.

use 32 bit .TGA instead

Well, then I'm sorry, the article in the manual isn't precise enough.

I always use .png for that stuff.
especially because I had some problems with .tga files being mirrored horizontally
(image flipped because acknex ignores the 0,0 origin pos)

...and .pngs are a bit smaller ;P


EDIT:
that beeing said, why don't you simply use a .png, .tga, .dds or whatever and use an alphachannel?
That's much easier to handle and you'll have a soft alpha channel in stead of that ugly 1-bit alpha...
