@lostclimate, what have you been smoking? There are already new pics just below the download link wink.

C&P from my first post in this thread, Screenshots:

As seen on the pics: the outdoor terrain is changed alot, the interface background for character screen, skill tree etc. is replaced entirely and ingame text (interface and briefing) is easier to read. Only the cave has been changed just a bit, may need to change that more. Next to what you can see on these pics, the tutorial interface is also replaced. And some other minor things like birds and more props etc.

lots of drugs... not really, just didnt think to look at the orginal post. Looks much better... still not sure I'd have such a fine grain on the terrain, but I guess thats more a matter of taste and to be honest the graininess gives it an old school feel that I think you might have been trying for anyways.

imo it is really better, but the terrain still has too much contrast, somehow it is not so easy to see clearly other details like characters. a bit smoother texture or larger terrain detail_size could help.

@lostclimate @sivan

Thanks! I personally like a bit of crispy look on the terrain, but I think I will desaturate it a bit more. That way the red grass and such will be better visible. Good idea about the detail_size, going to toy with that some more too.

Helpfull comments are helpfull grin

I don't think its a matter of taste, it is a matter of 'readability', and therefor playability. The contrast is way too hard, you almost can't identify the game elements.
You should try to narrow down the contrast from the opposite, starting from an absolutely plain color, than add some cloudy variation in the saturation or whatever, and so on ...

I have finally finished the third update (/version) for Desert Abaddon. This is the biggest update so far. It contains yet again big changes to the terrain and the whole theme of the interface and menu. It is now more robot-like and texts are better readable. I have also made the texts shorter and have added robot voice casting. Lots of things are desaturated or changed for way better visuals. Furthermore some gameplay fixes and changes like that you can now zoom out further. Also with the help of Sivan, the freezing problem with some ATI drivers seems to be reduced and maybe on some computers fixed. The whole AI code has been rewritten and is alot faster. Everything is better optimized overall, better fps too. Finally I have replaced my own made menu song with something better.

Many more updates to come laugh.

It looks nice, but what system requirements it has?

Thanks, I don't know exactly but I can play it on my laptop with decent fps (which has a bit trouble playing Left4Dead). I think the game is mainly heavy on the processor, so it probably runs good on your comp.
