So today I finally made it to actually attaching Zorro to MT4 on my todo list...

I had prepped for this last week by setting up an MT4 mini demo account. I then did not use the platform for about a week until today.

However, Zorro is complaining with this error when I trying to press Trade on my strategy:
Error 047: EURUSD - 165 bars missing

In looking at MT4, it does seem like something is wrong. For example here is the M1 chart. How can I fix this? Or do I need to contact IBFX support and ask them?

Thanks

Ok I think I fixed this... first, to clear the gap in the chart (not sure why that happened, seems like an MT4 issue) ... I just removed all the .hst files in my MT4 History folder and then restarted the platform.

Even though the visible gap was gone now, Zorro still complained about missing bars. So I did something I remembered that other EAs sometimes need... which is to manually request older M1 data... I scrolled back several days then tried Zorro again.

Now it seems happy!

MT4 has often price gaps. This is due to the suboptimal implementation of the MT4 server that needs a long time for providing prices to the MT4 client.

If you get a gap message, restarting the strategy often helps until finally the MT4 server delivers the rest of the prices.

If you restarted it three times and the gaps are still there, the prices are missing already on the server and you'll have to live with the gaps. Gaps can reduce the performance slightly at start of the strategy, for a week or so.
