I'm trying to project a decal with a rectangular shape. But it keeps getting rendered square. Is it not possible to project decals in sizes that are not square?
I'm not sure what you mean. My decal texture is 64x256. But they keep getting projected at like 64x64. Square. All borders of the alpha map are 100% transparent. Only solid pixels are in the center.
I'm pretty sure there is a remark that only square images are supported for decals. You can still use non-square images/ content but have to imbed them in square image files.

Yeah. I've been doing that but it's a lot of mesh for such a small amount of actual texture. Lags pretty bad. I would use stencil shadows but I'm getting some crazy artifacts in them. Guess I'm up creek.
