Price history files can be shared among several Zorro installations when a HistoryFolder is set up in Zorro.ini.

Has anyone successfully tried it? I can set up what I want Zorro always claims that it can't find AssetFix.csv immediately after restart. Interestingly it also works fine with:

HistoryFolder = "" // folder with the price history files

when the history folder is in the root directory of Zorro (default).

Hi Sphin,

Yes, I've tried it and it works - but for the History bar files only. These are the big size hit and presumably the motivation.

I actually prefer it this way - sharing the static, read-only History bar files from a separate folder and keeping the Assets* files (in History) unique per Zorro install to account for different brokers and/or accounts w/ different parameters.

HTH.

Oh ... then I missunderstood. I thought with the HistoryFolder variable you can select a new location for the whole content (all files) that are default in the folder "History" in Zorro's directory. I didn't know that this concerns only to the price files, therefore I used AssetFix.csv as indicator if Zorro recognized the new location (because if not it claims already at restart with no further action needed). Thanks! I will try again.

Yes, the "HistoryFolder" setting is for the price history only. - I'll upload later today a new version where the additional "2" to the asset list name reported by DdlV is fixed.

Indeed it works, thanks!

There is a switch in in the .ini that is called "HistoryFolder" where the price history files can be outsourced. But anyhow there has to be a folder called "History" in the Zorro folder where the Asset* files have to reside. Isn't it a kind of ... chaos? Wouldn't it be more straight to make the "other files than price files" reside in Data so that the History folder is only filled with price files and can be removed when outsourced via HistoryFolder?

@jcl, I've implemented 1.46.1 for live Trading. Does 1.46.3 include any fixes needed for Trading?

Thanks.

Sphin: Yes, you certainly have a point, but on the other hand we don't want to have too many folders - and the data folder is not suited for the .csv files either, since they are market related, not strategy related. Anything related to a particular strategy is in the Data folder.

Ddlv: Yes, you can continue with 1.46.1. unless you trade with Oanda. Then you must use 1.46.3.

Please download it again. I see in the background of your screenshot a suspicious file size of 105 MB, but the file size of the Zorro 1.43 setup should be 107,911,693 bytes. I've just uploaded it again for making sure that the right version is on the server.
