Check out Showcase section. There are still users who make games and put them on steam. Also don't forget Superku!

I'm planning to create a 2d game using A8. However, at the moment I'm still working on some framework-related things because I want to have a solid base to work with. (mainly a 2d collision system, interface (partially done) and audio functions)

Almost 1 year now working on a (modern time) rpg fps/tps game with shade-c. Much done and still much to do. I am working on an Unreal Tournament 2004 based game (Style & Story not equal), , UT2004 forever . I recently played a UT2004 mod which added Half Life 2 weapons and monsters/combines to its invasion mode, was really cool and surprisingly good combine AI (recommended to people here still playing ut2004).

(my all time favorite is runestorm's ballistic weapons mod). I'm not really playing it anymore, though. If I want to play UT these days, I go with UT3 or the new one.
