IEX is not a broker. How did you expect to use it? And for what benefit?

Just use IB.

Thank you for your input.

IEX Cloud is a Market Data provider and it is listed as a Broker (even though it is not) in the Broker list of Zorro's manual.

Are you an admin/programmer of Zorro or are you just only responding based on your experience?

Not everyone wants or can open an account with IB.

Thanks again.

I'm a broker plugin developer. I'm at the front line. That makes me fairly relevant. wink (Occasionally oP group subs out their script and plugin work to me as well.)

You still did not answer my question.

Thanks again.

I have an IEX cloud account (for which I pay for access to the API) and don't want to open an IB account.

The benefit would be to use my current IEX API access to run the Z13 system.

Thanks

It sounds like you want to manually trade on the broker of your choice by using Z13 with IEX to read market data and generate trading signals.

You cannot do that because the IEX plugin does not output any options data.
https://manual.zorro-project.com/iex.htm

This plugin only supports the broker command SET_PRICETYPE.

To read options, your plugin needs GET_OPTIONS and SET_SYMBOL (not supported by IEX plugin).

To trade options, you also need GET_POSITION, SET_MULTIPLIER, and optionally SET_COMBO_LEGS for combos (also not supported by IEX plugin).

Notice that all of those functions (and more) are supported by the IB plugin:

Thanks again.

Is there another way to manually trade Z13 to generate trading signals?

Hi mckay, perhaps this helps:

I have been experimenting to avoid IB data feed and trade Z13 manually too. My reason was the EU residency, so no use of SPY data, and also little, or none use of SPY-Options data. Thus, the data subscription for automated order entry looked like a pure waste for me. But the IB subscriptions needed for trading Z13 is just 1,50 USD/Mnt (ARCA:SPY) and 1,50 USD/Mnt. (options data), half of that waived by acceptable trading activity. For me, it was a clear choice, as I get the full comfort of Zorro-IB plugin and at least for stock trading, IB is a true gem.
