I see I began with A5 extra registered Wed, Dec 16, 2009. I'm old and slow, and not moving to a new system now. More Detail: I remember seeing seeing a demo [the offfice ?] and becoming very excited. I bought a copy of A4 or 5 from a 3rd party shipper, railway supply house. My interest has been developing 3D walkthroughs of the appearance of towns during our 'settlement era' of about a century ago. I've done a couple of town projects for local museums. The difficulty being that the museums have limited budgets, and developing hundreds of building models from old pictures is time consuming.

Examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4T3XP76vRo&t=57s : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYTc8dVbzUs : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsZMgKirq3w&feature=youtu.be : well you get the idea. Museums usually want either the 'game'; or a walkthru I make with FRAPS.

Just continuing on building stuff from AUMs or looking at the contest demos.

I started hobby level making 3d games with a4, then upgraded to a5. I remember Keebo and Firoball who posted above(years ago now haha). I went to blitz3d for a while because it suited my style at the time, but it's RIP. I decided to become an MRI technologist for a living, but revived my passion for making games. I'm not saying what I'm using now, but it's out of Russia and it's headed downhill thanks to internal company issues. I'm still going to finally finish a game as a goal of mine and see where it goes... then maybe more. I see 3DGS is still standing strong THAT'S AWESOME! Lots more games have been made. I see the graphics and other things have been updated over time. I might take a stab and authoring a game in 3DGS sometime. Johann Christian Lotter is a cool guy, he added the ability to have two controllers that I was whinning for a long time ago! Who was the lead US programmer for a while back then who wrote a lot of the template scripts Dan something? I bearly knew what I was doing back then, I'm a little better off now.

Wow, its been a long time. Somehow I get nostalgic, when I think back. The times when I had big dreams.
I came here by accident. I opened a new browser tab and entered coniserver.net somehow automatically (because I did that a lot many years ago ;)). The url doesn't point to 3DGS anymore but anyway, I found it. laugh

^^ I remember when I got A7 as a christmas present from my father. I was 14 or 15 grin. 2021-- So I cant call myself Oldtimer yet grin. I started programming with 9, but I always had that passion for creating 3dart and music as well. I dont know today I just remembered those countless hours I had spend with A7/8. For me it was a way to create my first very own games. Now Im 28, build up my own company and moved from germany to japan. ^^ Its funny how little had changed in this forum. (pretty rare these days)
