Hi
One of two Zorro instances has been offline since Sunday evening. The following message appears when restart
----------------------------------------
_FDU6_JPN_f_1_
Login 0 FXCM..
!Login - Unable to obtain station descriptor. HTTP request failed object='/Hosts.jsp?ID=271911942&PN=Real&SN=ForexConnect&MV=5&LN=8200112704&AT=PLAIN' errorCode=56
Can't connect!
----------------------------------------
The irritating thing about it, the second instance of Zorro is still online

Yes. They have recently changed their API protocol. We'll publish an update this week.

INSOLENCE!. FXCM changes its protocol even though Zorro still has open trades. That cost me about 300 Euros since Sunday evening [/b]

Why are we not informed?

I don't know, but here's the update:

https://opserver.de/down/FXCM.zip

Unzip the bunch of DLLs in your Zorro folder and the new plugin in the Plugin folder. Let us know if you encounter any problems.

Login works now But:
after a while online, sometimes the app hangs.

Which Zorro version was that? Not all plugins can be combined with old versions.

Use 2.35 or 2.40. The plugin should work with both.

Could be coincidence:
I have 2 systems 32 and 64 bit

- so far no app crash on the 64bit system
- few app crashes on the 32bit system

Hmm, then the crash might be unrelated to version 1.9. It can be an incompatibility of a module of that 32 bit system with one of the FXCM dlls.

Only JCL and I, active in this thread? Am I the only FXCM user?

Have expanded my test. All test on a REAL account. Assets=NAS100 and JPN225
I was aware of the risk that a winning trade could quickly switch to a losing trade without the control of Zorro (app crash)

64Bit System:
Windows 7.....2 Zorro Instances > so far no app crash
Windows 10 ..2 Zorro Instances > so far no app crash

32Bit System:
Windows 7.....2 Zorro Instances > few app crashes
Windows 10...2 Zorro Instances > few app crashes

- Another thing I noticed tonight was that the crash happened at exactly 23:00 Uhr (17:00Uhr BrokerTime)
At this point the NAS100 and JPN225 are normally closed for one hour
- But some crashes also happened during the day

You're not the only one, we got many reports of the FXCM login error, but you are the only one with a win32 crash. It does not crash on our win32 test system. Which doesn't mean much since very old systems often have module damages.

Can you post the last 20 lines of the diag.txt after a crash?

Don't see any other reports, where are these many reports?
Do those many other users report directly to support?
Why not in the forum?

Yes.

Support is faster. And bug fixes are always free. (Unless user error is the source of the bugs, in which case, you need paid support.)

There is no Diag.txt file in the Zorro folder / subfolder
How was that again to enable Diag.txt?

Is this right? set (LOGFILE);

Thanks. That's a crash in a DLL process, not in the script or in the Zorro process. So I suspect that one of the new FXCM DLLs is not compatible with one of the modules or background processes on your Win32 machine. If it happened exactly at 23:00, it could have been triggered by a server event at that time.

You can try to fix it by reinstalling a fresh Windows version on that machine, maybe 64 bit instead of 32 bit. Otherwise do not continue FXCM trading on that PC.

Hello all! I am having the exact same error when trying to log into my FXCM accounts for trading with Zorro. I had no issues around 4 weeks ago, when I had to turn off the system for a while.

I tried copy pasting the updated DLLs from the previous post, but that didn't resolve it. I also downloaded and installed the version 2.40 (release candidate), also unzipped the FXCM folder and that also didn't help. No idea what else to try?

Hi jcl,

I have a Zorro S and recemtly downloaded and installed v.2.44 but I cannot login my FXCm accounts (demo and real) using the broler's API tokens saved on the Accounts.csv file. However, I had no problem to login after changing the API with the passwords for both FXCm accounts. So, I can login both accounts using my passwords but not via the API keys. Can you help me out to fix this problem so I can be able to login my both FXCM accounts using the PAI tokens provided?

Thanks

I had also a fxcm account but have never heard of fxcm api tokens. You normally enter user id and passwort, not api tokens.

Thanks Spirit,

I believe every broker is able to provide API keys for their trading accounts. FXCM is no exception. You just need to launch their web-based trading platform and go to their user menu on the top right side of the screen, and then click "API Token" to generate one for your trading accounts (demo or real).

So, back to my question, it seems I cannot access FXCM using their API keys isn't it? Any help here fellas?

Cheers,

Look here: https://manual.zorro-project.com/fxcm.htm

No API keys. You log in with account number and password.
