so you take the hight of a point in the terrain and then see if there are neighbors lower
then it against the sun position, and paint the shadows this way?

Yes, and the cast shadow is also calculated with vector math.

Today I made the really first usability test. I created a level only in editor (no external heightmaps etc...). Here are a few screens of this (terrain textures and skycube by Frank_G):

[EDIT]: Added some plants from Loopix. Looks very nice.

P.S.: Gegen Ende wäre eine Zusammenfassung der Features sehr schön - man verliert sonst zu leicht den Überblick.

Jep, 12,95 €. Feature Liste wirds auch noch geben. Bin grad dabei ne Miniwebsite zu machen damit man den Überblick über alles hat.
