(I'm not pursuing this job; just making a statement ): To be honest, I think that $100 is not enough for 'good work'. You need to provide references and specify skin size. 'Good work' can mean anything. Are we talking GTA style character or final fantasy style quality? There is a dramatic difference in quality when comparing the two. I think $150 is reasonable without animations.

The purpose I ask this is that if someone asks for good work, I spend time to achieve the level of quality desired; therefore, $100 wouldn't be enough. But someone can easily whip up a model in a couple of hours with tonnes of faults and bad mesh etc.

Just thought I'd point this out .

Hi Tozzy!

Maybe you're right but if you would be interrested in this job you would get the informations you need.
And for my requirements, €100 are enough - belive it!
(Maybe it's also the beginning of a greater job? - who knows?)

And listen: I don't want to discuss a lot - I need results.
So you are not pursuing this job - why do you post?

Because he is trying to help by saying that really professional quality work is not going to happen for 100$, and also to get some details so others can make the determination on if they are willing to take on a job like this for so little (depending on what the desired outcome is). Seems he was just trying to help.

But please - just if you're interrested in the job!

PS: a professional can do less qualified work for less money!

You already have been told some advice. I guess if the professional does not mind working for peanuts. More power to them.

Yea, it's just that, not knowing every bit of essential information upfront could put me off applying if I was going to pursue the job.
It all helps in attracting interest from the community if as much info as possible is supplied .

Results follow after elaborate discussion I would have thought .

I posted for the main purpose of trying to help you gain extra attention to the job you are offering by giving you some advice .

As always .

Why would a professional wish to work for less money lol?

Anyway, I hope you get some replies soon.

The main point I make is, I like to make doubly sure about what I'm doing before committing myself to a job without knowing all the facts first.

Kind regards,

Tozzy .

I think $100 in relationship to what people value money as regarding resources is quite a bit for a model. You could buy 20 fast food meals in the US for that.....but who in the world trusts in money?! That's supposed to be counting the work and resources we trade... and a lot of people just ask for models for free. There are several woman models on www.3dcafe.com for free that you can change to a cheerleader without too much difficulty but you can't sell your game if you use those....

$100 is undervalue for the work it takes to design a professional model. For the work involved it should be $200.00 USD and more. Animations take time as well. Even hours. Think it as a job .. would you like to get paid pennies a hour?

Are you kidding WING ?!! $100 is a pittance (No offence mercuryus) for the amount of work involved. In a way, I hate to kick up a fuss about this issue because I think to myself: "Well at least mercuryus is offering some money and not expecting a quality freebie like a lot of people here do so and it's not one of those dead end 'pay if game sells' schemes LOL". Nevertheless, good work deserves good pay. I don't regard a model with 3 skins with animations that takes 5-10 hours good work to be brutally honest because nobody would be able to do that in that amount of time.

lol try doing that here . But then again, sometimes I think to myself, maybe it's just because UK is so overpriced. Maybe the price is ok if you live in USA. Although, Light_Mystic and I share the same opinion and he is from USA.
