Here is what I am trying to accomplish, and maybe someone here can help me.

I am trying to make a simple box with a texture. The "floor" texture of this box is to be different, and scaled down.

I started up 3DGS, made a simple box, then hollowed it. I gave a texture to all of the walls then scaled down for a different texture for the floor. I selected the face for the top of the floor block (as shown). However, I cannot scale the texture down. When I change the values circled in red, it does nothing. Could anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

You may not actually have the right face selected. I believe the face with the color that differs from the other faces is the one selected. In the images, it looks as if the bottom face of the floor block is selected, not the top face of the floor block.

Two things:

1. Use the arrow keys. This makes adjustments of 0.1 for the change.
2. Click in the input field, type a scale you want, then press the enter key to confirm it.

If neither is the case, what version and edition do you have? If you don't know, go to help > about within WED.

6.11? Updating to 6.40.5 will very likely help. The update is free. The username and password required are in the file in the Gamestudio directory called password.txt. Just use a little copy paste to ensure you get it.

I updated. Same problem, but now after I build and press execute, NOTHING happens! Maybe I've gotten myself into a bigger problem

I don't get why it shouldn't let you scale a texture. Some more possibilities:

1. What happens when you select the block with the select tool? Does it select a single block or as a group? If it selects it as a group, scope down (using the tool in the top toolbar) and select the block you want to manipulate.
2. If a single block is selected, or got it so a single block gets selected, cycle through the faces so the face/side you want manipulated is selected, often making the texture shown in the 3D view as half-transparent red.
3. Mess with the texture scaling. If it still doesn't work, close the properties dialog and reopen it. If it still doesn't work after this, save your level, close WED, and reopen it.

If this method doesn't work, try using a model instead as models provide several advantages over blocks, mainly the sheer speed of rendering, flexibility in shape and positioning, near-instant building and a lot more than that.

Nothing has worked. Like I said though, I can't even run my level after updating now! I am stuck. Video card issues perhaps...

What video card do you have? What DirectX version do you have? What's your operating system and other computer specs (memory, CPU, hard drive, motherboard, etc.)?

I am running a GeForce FX5200, dx 9.0C. 900MHZ, 256MB RAM, XP Pro. I fixed the level loading problem. But I still cannot change the scale of textures! WTF
