Wouldn't you know it? The internet archive's wayback machine has the solution to the feature comparison chart. Have a look! I can't tell what version this is for, however.

Here's the promised downgrade to the A5.2 engine - the last engine that supported software rendering and ran on very old machines without 3D hardware. You need a valid A6 Commercial or Pro password for downloading the downgrade:

A5 setup

A5 Commercial key

A5 Pro key

The key is required for installing the setup or an A5 update.

Note that A6 levels or models won't run with the A5 engine. You'll need to use the A5 WED and MED editors for creating A5 objects.

The updates to 5.24 can be found at updcom524.exe and updpro524.exe .

Hi, I´ve noticed that you have add the Updates to 5.24 for Comm. an Pro. Is there no update for the Extra and the Standard Version? Why? At first you´ve only add the downgrades for Comm. and Pro. as described but now (because I think you really add it later as I´ve just said) there are these Updates, too. So please tell me is there any particular reason why you aren´t offering an Update for Standard or Extra? I would be happy if you could offer it anytime

@jcl: Please answer if possible

For the fun of it, try these links and play with the URL:

For extra
For standard

If you looked at the URLs of the two available, there's:

http://server.conitec.net/gsa6p/key.exe for professional
http://server.conitec.net/gsa6c/key.exe for commercial

Note the gsa6p and gsa6c. Since the last letter changes and is the first letter of the edition, logic would say that your best bet would be to use e for extra and s for standard. This only works if the file actually exists or you just get a 404 error.

Hey ... Great find

It was the info for Pre-5.24 As at the top you see 5.202 update
available.. Also the Price had droped in the later days as
It was in the later days $800.

I know this because by the Time I had saved the money...
It was $900. and not available anymore so I had to get A6.

I think all the info is valid for the most part...

That was Awesome Seeing that again... "I will be sure to
save it this time" ...

Thanks...

Well... I'm not JCL so dont count this as officail...
But I don't think you will ever see it for the lower Editions

When it was first being discussed about making it available
that was brought up .... bacically they don't want to deal with
it for lower Editions. However I you have Supported Conitec by
Spending a little more... Than they consider it worth wile to
have it available to you.

After waiting this long for it to become available...
I would pretty well take it as:

What you see is what you get.

Now If I really wanted this update...
I would grab it while you still even have
an option.

I must say from using it... it is "AweSome"
my workflow is going steady once again...

And $200 for commercial edition really isn't that much. If you didn't spend on what you didn't really need (like new dinnerware when your current stuff is in decent order), you could save that $200 in 4 or 5 months, possibly even within 2 months. Try to work overtime if you can as overtime means 50% bonus pay and it adds up (but make sure the place you're working at allows it). For convienience, I used some copy paste on that chart to post it here. Since I can't use the table tag, it's ASCII art instead.

I've installed A5 Commercial now. snd_play doesn't work for me, is there any solution for that?

What is so good about the downgrade? Isn't A6 supposed to be the better version? Or am I in the dark somewhere?

Some want to be able to develop games using the software mode, which has far greater compatibility for older systems and for those who want to make a simple game. My 2D game would otherwise fit into this, but I need support for 24-bit color and A5 doesn't have that, so it's not an option. 24-bit color was only implemented into the 6.31 update. 16-bit color looks very bad, considering all those gradients I've got and 32-bit color would otherwise just end up wasting both disk space and memory and not worth it. I just mainly posted the feature comparison chart so users would know what each edition from A5 supports. I got it off the internet archive.
