here it is, the very first monster mini mayhem demo.
before i upload it to the website, i let you donwload and try it.

gameplay is simple:

WASD - move
Mouse left - attack
mouse right - scare
AD select character in menu
WS select player skin in menu
Mouse: chose buttons
ENTER - accept character

the demo time is 5 minutes per character. after the time ran out, the ggame will quit. maybe you post your score here?

Known bugs:
some objects bleed
lucy doesnt hit anyone when attacking from down under
franky sometimes doesnt attack
you can still pass armstrong because he is still a little slow
lost energy wont be restored with a restart, but the player will have energy

if you run into more bugs, please post them here^^

credits:

the textures and some model skins are still not complete. however, this will change during the week and i hope to make the demo public within the next two weeks.

The Demo was pretty solid, nice job mk, the graphics were good. A couple things I felt hindered me was:

1. The camera, the angle I think was to shallow so objects were blocking it.

2. Blend the fighting and movement animation, don't stop your player to attack your foe

3. This all depends on how far you want to go with the game, but as a last input to finalizing the project, input a small little story on why your scaring the snot out of people and then beating them to a pulp, I almost felt bad for the guys (just kidding)

4. Have fun with it, nice job on the demo though

Hi!

What I like:
- the models of the main characters
- the leveldesign looks nice to me
- the ai of the antis is easy but ok
- the menu
- the music
- that a further game has reached a presentable state (congratulation!)

what I don't like:
- the gameplay (sense of the game) [it's just a sensless slaughter ]
- the controls (use also the cursor-keys, turn the actor with the mouse, fighting & running should be possible at the same time!)
- the camera (make a better 3rd-person view?)

It's a nice game at all.
I admire your work!

EDIT: PS: runs with good performance on my poor laptop.

i cannot compile a 6.4 version, but those are dx9 shaders...

i dont have the 9.4 yet since its not compatible with my levels made in 6.31...

im sorry...

tell me your exact specs and ill test iton a similar system. i wonder whats wrong though, i jsut tested it on the PC of my sister, its a pentium 3 800mhz with a noname graphics card and it runs smooth (but without shaders) at 30-40 fps...?

about the sense of the game:

as said: story is there, jsut not included in the test demo. the test demo is for gameplay testing only...

the camera will stay this way, but it will be a little better with the view in the finalversion, when things that block the view turn transparent.

animations are already underway...

english language version will follow too...

edit: controls: the controls will be overworked, sicne this is the issue i got most. ill add a keyboard only variante and arrow controls, and maybe even a configure control system^^

Pretty funny.

Thing I don't like:
- Kevin and to a lesser extent jack seems to walk in slow motion
- For a game that's all about slaughter I'd like to see nicer blood and perhps some limb loss
- Pinball AI of characters seems somewhat odd
- Characters (main characters and victims)seem a little dark

Love the style of the characters and it looks like it's gonna become a pretty cool game!

good points.
kevin and jack need to walk in slow motion, because they are stronger than lucy^^
the enemy AI is equivalent to their real life counterparts-.-
its actually not a slaughter game, its a fun game. no more blood
the darkness setting is somethign i noticed too. i will work on that^^

Hi.
I have 25->40 FPS in the levels of Lucy and Kevin but i have only 8->12 in the level of Jack.
I can see the gameplay is kinda original and well thought but i just cant play to this game..the monsters scare me .

Just kidding ...No,in fact i dont like the fact that "enemies" cant defend themselves and strike back...Actually i dont like the slaughter thing,i dont like slaughters in general thats why i cant enjoy this game...
The scaring animation of Jack is cool and funny ...
Also the game is too dark .My contrast and brightness are set to the max but its still too dark...

Its a pleasure to play around with A6. zzzgames.ifrance.com : go try & buy Streetkicker
