In the map compiler is a button 'update textures'. The explanation in the manual: Quote:
To copy changed texture images into an existing WMB map. The name, size, scale, or position of textures must not be changed. Note that this option should only be used when the map itself was not changed or edited in any way after the last compile process - otherwise the result can be a damaged WMB file, causing an error message or a crash on level loading.
What exactly may you change when using that button? If I change a texture it will not work, I have to rebuild the level completely.

Let's say you have a brick texture called "brick". It's a 256x256 texture. You have the texture scale at 0.5 on all sides and the positions are all at 0's. Now, let's say you don't like the shade of red you used for bricks and want to make it more toward the orange end in the hue wheel. You make this change and reimport the texture and build with this without making any other changes.
