no, it's a deformation object (wind modifier, "flag"-flag set, simulating a 67m big piece of cloth with an amplitude of 7m at a frequency of 10 Hz with oriented object origin

@ grimber: i need to find an efficient way to export it to mdl. the only way up to now seems to be a frame-by-frame export to 3ds, which can be a quite annoying process with exactly 99 frames

should beablt to trim the frames down 1/3 to 1/5 the number without loosing the animation.

if you want, can just zip up all the .3ds frames I can play with converting it

Hi,

you can add more smoothness to the flag and get better motion results. but on the other hand then you cant use it for rts games anymore:

higher polycount video

i personaly prefer flags that move quite a bit in the wind. flags in reality flap and jump arround and dont move as smooth as you made it. but tahts just a matter of taste.
thats why i add horizontal and vertical movement and mix them by weight.

!!! i have added the pole to the pack. just redownload it and it is included "flagpole.mdl". !!!

cheers and have a nice one

I've only made one 3D model in my life, and it looks crap. It's only that arrow thing you see in WED and MED.

I can try, but I might not get it right. I like the one on the picture. But I can always try to make my own...

I like these. I've been looking for a replacement flag for one of my levels.
Thanks for sharing them.
