hi there,
while drawing some labyrinths for my daughter i thought of porting one of them into 3d. so i created this one (i took a photo of the drawing, traced a vector and created a mesh).
its a large file (22MB, duno where they come from) so if you dont like labyrinths dont download it..

i started thinking of making a game out of it, where you have to solve small, easy labs to free bigger, heavier ones. also adding quests to them, so you have to visit certain marks in a labyrinth.

this time i used only sylex to add some visuals.
also its featuring one of my latest songs (still wip)

I'm not a friend of exzessiv use of shaders but the idea is good and the labyrinth is very nice!

Very good work, thanx!

Look nice. The camera does seem to turn a bit too quick. Also I'd think a first person camera would be pretty funny - if not very useful. Alas, I din't have the sense of direction and enough patience to get to the end of the labyrinth.

just keep yourself on the left side of the walls and follow it. you will come out for sure then

yeah i think it should be a first person cam. thats the sense of a labyrinth, that you dont see the other floors :x

nice idea with extruding them make a game out of it ^^ would be cool if there are also some tools like walking through a wall or having a top view for 5 seconds, and so on. and you could add some traps or barrier.

Still, what's more challenging than a labyrint whilst having a 'drugged'-effect-fullscreen motion blur shader thingy?

Cheers

Nice Ello!

How did you get the shadow where the hedge meets the ground?

the shadow is one big sprite, a blurred image of the labyrinth drawing, scaled to fit the lab itself.. thanks to conitec we can see model+sprite-textures in wed;)
