Hello folks,
I'm proud to present today the second release (v0.2) of my Lite-C FMOD wrapper DLL for A7!

Compared to version 0.1, this release contains several bugfixes and new features. The 0.1 version was compiled in debug mode, so that you were'nt able to use it on systems without VS2005 being installed. Furthermore, there were some minor bugs and restrictions which are fixed as well.

The new features are: full 3D sound support with arbitrary listeners, runtime audio specialeffects like echo, flanger, distortion and so on (all customizable), recording from microphone, saving samples as WAVE files (e.g. recorded data) - plus some bugfixes and general improvements. As a sidenote: from now on the manual files will be in CMH format - its smaller, faster and easier to maintain.

By this release, the FMOD wrapper DLL is able to replace the whole audio engine of the A7 gameengine - except WRS reading. This will be added in a future release. Furthermore, a percentage of the wrapper feature-set has been ported to CScript for a machinima production. The CScript version will remain as a private build for interested developers - if you want to know more, send me a message or call me.

You'll find the release as usual on my website, www.christian-behrenberg.de

I hope there are some people who want to use this in the future. Maybe we can meet me at the Dusmania 2007 for further question and answers and - of course - some beer

Cheers and have a good one,
Christian

There was an error with 3D sound occuring in some circumstances (the listener rotated about 90° to the left). The fixed version 0.2.1 has been uploaded by me on my page.

I just found out that there is a $100 shareware license for indies. It's for 1 product on PC only but $100 is better than 6 grand:

Thanks for this great contribution.

I'm getting ready to make the move to A7 and am looking
forward to incorporating FMOD into a project that I'm working on.

I have actually used FMOD with a win32 openGL project and
I'm curious if the A7 FMOD wrapper includes some of the
functionality I am hoping to use.

I am interested in FSOUND_Stream_SetSyncCallback so I can set
up markers that will call functions.

When I looked at LC_FMOD_WRAP.h I saw:
//BOOL LC_FSOUND_Stream_SetSyncCallback (int* stream, void* callback, void* userdata);

Since you have commented this line out I was wondering if you are
planning on making it available in a future release, or is it
possible for me to use it in version 0.2?

Thanks again for your efforts!!!!!!

Thanks for your interest!

Callbacks aren't supported yet, but they are going to be implemented in the near future.

I look forward to the future release.

I am going to use markers for callbacks to make
a "metronome" that will be in sync with the audio strem.

Ah, I see. Unfortunately I have no wave file or so that has markers included. If you have something like that, tell me.
