hello,
After a long period of silence, I am proud to anounce that a revolutionary feature has been added to the Onyx beta to provide support with OpenGL and Mac/Linux operating systems. While every graphic based function has been redesigned from the ground up, OnyxGL features the same easy implementation found in other gamestudio extensions.
I am also proud to anounce the release of our official website within the next month and the beta release of the engine within the next month or two.
OnyxGL and Onyx (for those who are new) is a extension to the gamestudio A7 engine which allows for more intense and specialized rendering and physics functions than those included with A7.
OnyxGL and Onyx are fully compatible with each other and the A7 engine allowing for flawless game creation for multi-platform clients.
As of now, both extensions will be dowloadable in a limited trial mode or may be purchased for a still undetermined amount.
Those who enter the beta test group will recieve a FREE copy of the full version. To sign up for the beta, you must be proficient in C++ and lite-c and email me after the release of our website (still undetermined).
In addition, Onyx now supports the C++ programming language and adds the ability to use classes and templates in the gamestudio lite-c language.
As for shaders, Onyx supports a new shader algorithem that allows for pixel shaders to be nested within each other, allowing for dynamic shader changes and shader overlays (more in the Onyx manual)
Onyx and OnyxGL can also trasnlate to and from GLSL and HLSL automatically for easier use.
Onyx will also support automatic HDR lighting as well as SSAO, PSM, and many other modern shaders.
Onyx now supports the additional feasture to import and export models between WED and MED by transforming blocks dfirectley to polygon meshes.
Onyx also supports importing models from 3DS MAX, Blender, and Google Sketch-up.
For more information, please visit our website on its release( I will post the date later) and downlaod the Onyx Manual and all the free demos and shaders you want!
cheers, Michael Auerbach David Bryants Jeremy Fox Stephen Chou

I'll move this thread to "tools" as it doesn't fit into "shaders". You do not contribute any shader nor do you ask a question about them. This thread is purely advertising.

Hey again, I just recentley downloaded the public beta. It might take a bit longer to finish this project because i'd like to experiment with the z-buffer bmap functions... perhaps I can further improve the dynamic shadow mapping. things I have already added from the release of the beta: -a "cast" flag to prevent self-shadowing -faster shadow mapping -decal shadow "ignore" - ignores decals to prevent shadow iregularities -a prototype COYOTE shader (Camera Oriented Y-Occlusion Test-Enviroment shader) The T in the name is only added to make the acronym coyote I am setting up some web space to share some pictures and videos until the website is up! cheers, Mike

Ok, i have a few questions maybe someone can answer: -How, or with what software, can I record my gamestudio renderings into video files? -what/who is tusc? I don't know if that's a stupid question but id REALLY appreciate if someone told me what/who tusc is. -Mike-
