SEED_IT (easy object seeding for 3DGS) released

SEED_IT for 3DGS is now available!

Dear gamedesigners,

SEED_IT for 3DGS the tool for easy object seeding with 3DGS is now ready and available.

No much words to say (i've written too many help files the last days you can read )
Please get informed about this easy to use but powerfull tool on my web page and/or take a look at the online manual.



You can download a full featured demo of SEED_IT from my web page (TOOLS)

SEED_IT should make gamedesign with 3DGS more easy and way more faster - and SEED_IT for 3DGS is cheap!

Hi,
well this tool seems very useful. I have just downloaded it and wanted to give it a spin - but I seem to have come across a slight bug. I clicked on the help button. I then got an error message. This is it self wasn't a real issue but it kept opening more and more error message boxes and I couldn't close them. I had to log off of my account to stop the program. Anyway I'm going to continue looking at the programme - just won't click the help button anymore^^

Without the helpfile it's hard to get the idea behind the tool.
Once understood how SEED_IT works it's very easy to design a level.

You can open the helpfile also directly from the file system ("\help\help_en.htm" in the install directory).
Or you use the link from my signature

The help button just tries to open the default explorer with this html-helpfile, wonering you got a error-loop?

Well I've been playing around a little more with it and it looks pretty cool - there are only a few things that'd stop me buying it:
- how come it doesn't place the models properly when I offset the terrain in WED - or is there an option for that that I've missed?
- does this work with a terrain that has a multitex material applied? If so, how?

Anyway - nice work. This could definitely speed up the otherwise rather tedious job of planting a level full of trees etc.

[edit]I fixed this offset thing.

the material settings have no meaning for the seeding code.
If you use multitexturing (more textures per model, handled by a shader) and want to use one of the skins as seedingmap, just select the proper skin with the "Seedmap models texture id".

I've fixed the shifting and rotating problem.
There's a difference in how the engine caluclates min_/max_ values of models vs. terrains.
SEED_IT now (v1.0.9) can handle this.

Please download the up-to-date version.

This must be one of the most helfull tools maded with 3DGS, great work mercuryus !! I'm downloading the demo right now and I might buy the full version if the demo grants my needs
