I'm a huge fan of this project, and I'm glad to finally see it in ... well, not Showcase II, but so-to-speak Showcase II!
It sounds like you're more focusing on story than on puzzles (something that I would do as well if I were to do an adventure game :)), which since Hotel Dusk and Phoenix Wright, I'm very fond of - but obviously, there are still going to be puzzles in there. I sure hope you won't have the completely weird puzzlesolutions in there, but instead stick to logical actions. Other than that, I'm actually free of worries!
Which is weird, because there are about a
million things that could go wrong with the story - I still trust you and think you're fully up to it, even though we still haven't heard much of the story. Is it just me or is this very snippet
The game will feature a mature story unfolding over the course of one night in the life of a down on his luck gangster. The dialogue is presented in the original mafia slang from the period; a portion of which features narration from the main character as he struggles to make sense of the world and situations around him.
the most we've ever heard of the story (in its current form - there were revisions, weren't there?)? Sounds intriguing!
You're going to use voice-acting, right? I would love to see more of your dialog-system... just to know if things like "modern" innovations/gimmicks like a time limit on the selection of answers are included
I really can't wait to see more of this, and especially more of its story. I'm not sure if I ever saw a snippet of your writing - other than forum posts,
of course - but for some reason, I'm still without a shadow of doubt - it's most likely your fond (and famous*) love of adventure games.
(* not really
that famous, but I like the sound of it)
Go Orange Brat! Yay for shenanigans!
