Iridium 1.0 Beta!
The wait is over! An official Iridium Beta Version will be released Monday, June 22, 2009! If you have registered with us to test Iridium, you will get an email Monday at 10:00 am est with the download link, password, and manual. Enjoy these screens! Hopefully they will tide you over for two days!

sorry, this is because the skycube has a normal map applied (which shouldn't be). I'm not a 3d artist so I often make mistakes when creating models and applying textures. Thanks for pointing this out - I removed the extra texture.

No, sorry, I know there was constructive criticisim (I'll never be able to spell that word) and I know "everyone" was exaggerated (another one of those words).
I was just a little disappointed at the overall feel of the comments. You're right, my comment was only replying to the pessimistic comments. Sorry about that.

The point is just, that we can already have the same effects shown in the demo just better looking and much more stable for free with shade-c...

I btw wonder how you are comparing ther speed of your shader to the speed of the one used in crysis... Especially as the crysis one gives much better looking results.

I btw don´t want to make your work bad or something like that as I know that it is a lot of hard work to get all that stuff done, I just don´t like the way you are presenting it. Because it seems as if you are totally exaggerating the quality of your results.

I don't think it compares side-by-side with shade-c, given the whole of the effects you are seeing in iridium are running 100% of the time, natively. I believe shade-c has god-rays set up manually, where this takes them from all light sources (where set) all the time.

Its a case of different methods for different purposes. This is indeed to my eyes closer to crysis' way of doing things, and i look forward to the few remaining 'bugs' dissappearing very soon. (Shadows dropping out under certain conditions mainly)
