3D real time Heart Nodal System Viewer

Hi everybody :D,

first, thank you to welcome me again,and, sorry for my english guys !

my name is Jean-Christophe Deyag�re. I'm 3D modeler/developper at ICAP service ,a departement of University LYON 1 (France).I would like to introduce to you something else that a game for this time.3D game Studio is a great tool to create 3D apps for me. I'm using this soft for 4 years now. With my colaborator Eddine Liamidi, we are trying to developp a 3D real time viewer that allows to observe the electricity movements inside a human heart. This project is directed by the Professor Philippe Chevalier (french cardiac specialist and chirurgist).
We are working for 6 months on this project. At this time it's still in progress.
We want to create a usefull tool for students or patients, to explain the electric behaviour of the heart.
With this soft, the user can observe the electric behaviours of certains cardiac pathologys.
This soft will be only for educationnal purpose.

Will you also be animating the heart to demonstrate the muscle contractions based on the electrical impulses? Are you intending to show conditions and the affects such as Arrhythmia? I really like the heart beat animation at the top right, and the whole idea is very good. I also like the surface of the heart (the solid one. Animate the heart will be the second part of our project. It's a difficult part, because the inside movements (atrium, valves, ventricles) are very complexe. At this time, i'm trynig to find the best way to animate the model.(morphing ? rigging with a bones system...) Thank you Salut ! best regards. JC

So the image that they see on screen must be very clear, so that they can understand the things that happends in the human heart. I try to find the right place between a "schematic" and an "artistic" view of the human heart. The other things that make me be cautious with shaders is the optimisation of the application. Post processing shaders cost a lot in terms of system ressources, and this soft must be able to run on the main majority of PCs. Best regards JC Last edited by VOXEL_addict; 07/15/09 20:56.

It is nothing new, that gamestudio is a perfect engine, even for every kind of 3d visualisation not only for games.But it is amazing to see the engine in use for medical work. A very serious part of 3d art.

Students, and professionals are asking for this. My working colaborators are allways asking me : "Where did you learn those 3D technics ?"
