Call Of Death

Watch out!

Because there's a zombie invasion, and someone is pretty pissed off about that. It's Dirty Dick Johnson, and we are proud to show you his new game named "Call of Death: Chapter one". It's a complete indy production, we are currently looking for publisher and are evaluating online distribution platforms.

YOUR MISSION:
You are Dirty Dick Johnson, a guy who doesn't care about anything but girls'n booze. But since the Pussy Palace, Big City's nr. 1 adress for first class adult dancing entertainment couldn’t open because of the zombie invasion, you'll have to make your way out into the city to bring back all the lost strippers. There might be some zombies in your way...

GAME FACTS:
* A fast paced first person SHOTER with a lot of action, hot babes and really black humor
* Easy accessable arcade gameplay, cinematic kill scenes and countless gallons of zombie blood to be shed
* Weapon shop with 12 weapons and a lot of additional items to be purchased
* 5 levels / 3 versions to play each map / 3 mini games to be revealed throughout the game
* 1st of 3 planned chapters

Now that you mentioned it, steam may have rejected it because it does not have any rating. Submit it to ESRB or PEGI and get ratings.

Databecker offers a web shop system with copy protections for Downloads. This should be no problem. But I would not sell it on a german server. In germany for porn you need a protection like
x-check. This crap was a disaster when we wanted to sell the hardcore version of logisex. Try to put it on a foreign country server... and then you have the possibility just to ask if the visitor is over 18. Like the system, they use on youporn.com

Is it only important where the server is located? The location of the company which stands behinde this stuff (e.g. germany) does not count? Sounds confusing to me...

Maybe Steam does not want to host a Duke Nukem Parody, right before Duke Nukem hits the store.

Its more likely to be accepted like 6 month after the Duke is released.
(wich should be soon + time x)

If Duke Nukem turn out to flop, you will have much better chances to get it placed.
(and its not exacly a family casual game, thus
expect petty reactions from portfolio managemenent.)

---

For copy protection, you should include some online activation
or feature unlock mechanism.
(Depending on however the user pays, he can receive an
activation code / make a login account, or each game contains a unique code,
that can be linked to a purchase)
The only save way to copyprotect is a server dependance nowerdays. The serversoftware cant be accessed by the hackers.
And the more the server handles, the less it can be emulated.

The argument: "but I cant play it without internet" is not
really valid nowerdays.

I think, it's perhaps the too much gore concept and not enought Next Gen models for an FPS game that make them not to publish it !

For Steam i think it's caus it's an FPS !

You can find on Steam very very little price lot more good , long and better FPS : Painkiller for example !
Far Cry , must be very little price also, and the horror
theme is lot more better used in L4Dead with it's multiplayer not only gore effects everywhere!

FPS games are not that casual but more core gamers , and if you target PC games not iphone, I think if you go FPS for steam, you must have something speacial, special ideas !
Mirror Edge, Portal game for example !

In Indie games you won't find lot of FPS games !
Or they are special, not a simple shoot with lot of gore !
Take example on Penumbra game : FPS/adventure with it's own
Advanced engine and physics !

Well just my opinion on Steam and FPS games laugh !

Finish your game. At worst you can sell it on your own site. If you stop then you lose all the time you have invested. Plus this is one of the few good games I have seen posted on this forum in a long time.
