I want to say thanks to the entire community and all the hard workers at Conitec. This project wouldn't have grown so large without the years of support, resources, and inspiration offered by all of you. Especially to the old timers who have been around since the beginning. Keep it up! laugh

Thanks for looking! Please join the Facebook page and forums and help spread the news of the game. And please tell me what you think. laugh

Congratulations on the release man! This is a huge accomplishment. Few people have the dedication to actually complete such a large project by themselves. The game is really quite good.

I wish you good luck with your sales, reviews, and future career as a game designer. laugh

Thanks so much guys! I couldn't have done it without the support on these boards. I think I must have searched for coding help a million times in the last 10 years I've been here. I hope everyone can pick up the game and try it out. laugh

I got lucky today and a really big reviewer posted one on the game(Cynical Brit) so the game got alot of attention(alot negative, but publicity is a great thing regardless so I'm really happy):

Everyone can purchase the game on Direct2Drive, Beamdog, and Gamersgate now:

I will be releasing the demo late tomorrow. laugh

I plan to continue to make patches to the game after release.

I agree with Cynical Brit in that there are some issues that you should definitely fix in a later patch, like the desert track whose roads are pretty much indistinguishable from the background.

However, considering the size and scope of the game, it would be impossible for you to go back and iron out all of the bugs and design errors he exposed at this point.

Basically, the game is finished, and it doesn't really matter much if it gets good or bad reviews (although good reviews would be nice). Just take the things you learned from this game and move on. laugh

Nice! I enjoyed the video. While he had bad things to say, he also gave parts of the game well-deserved praise -- the kart handling, the music, cheats, settings, museum, variety.

i was going to say, he didnt say all bad. he sounded very understanding that you were pretty lonewolf on it. i'd say some things do need to be ironed out. some of the bugs, do you know what the issues are causing them? he even said, fixed up a little he could see it being a good lan favorite.

By the way, I got curious and in my hunt for more media coverage on Silas I stumbled into this quote by you:

THANK YOU for pointing out that this is how we did things before all the major developers decided to pretend otherwise!

Congratulations with your release!
I agree with cynical brit on most things, as he also pointed out some nice things
The museum is for example a nice unique feature.
It might just be some polish the game is missing.

Because of the reaaaaaaly slow internet connection here i just was able to watch the first 5 minutes of the youtube vid. - from my point of view this is one of the fairest reviews a gamestudio game ever got..

congratuloations william to publish this game!

Thanks for the comments guys! I plan to eventually release a small patch for the game. As for my next project, it is already under development with a programmer friend of mine. But there wont be any details on it until early next year. But I will be sure to post on here about it and any new info pertaining to Silas. laugh

I had some free time and played your game for a few hours. I was always a fan of Mario Kart (and am still playing it my Game Cube) and I have to say that your game also is amazing! What I loved most was the museum, which showed a man who fights for his dream to become reality! I really admire how much work you put into this game and the huge amount of excellent content the game has.

I whish you lots of selled copies and hope that you continue to create such cool games like Silas!
