yes it does (as long as your material is defined by a texture and not by application specific shaders)..
but you cant import jpg, tiff and other formats into med. thats why it tellx you 8x8x3 for the texture. you than need to import your eauivalent texture, bmp,tga or best dds.

i am using cinema4d and didnt dome across any problems for a long time regarding textures. it works perfect. i can export models with multiple meshes, each mesh a different texture. what is not supported (and i think thats on the fbx-side) is having one closed mesh with more than one texture. for that you need to create a single texture, too.
