EDIT: I may need to know for an oral exam how to solve the following (type of) differential equation:

y' = y^2 + 2y + 2, y(0) = 1

Does anyone know how to proceed?

Here goes (...in german)

Please be aware that I am not a mathematician, and I'm not trying to be one. So I'm fully aware of the fact that this is sloppy at best and possibly wrong at worst, though it does give the correct solution. Anyway, at the very least, it helps a little. laugh

Another thing: While this way of Seperation of variables works very well for this kind of differential equation (always a good thing to try when you only got one derivative), this way of writing it is not quite mathematically precise and correct. So depending on your professor, you might want to present it differently wink

Still hope it helps, though.

Perhaps this post will get me points for originality at least.
