i find minecraft a lot less ugly than the soldier demo for example. this has nothing to do with detail, "next-gen" or "aaa" (man, i hate those stupid terms ).
edit: i have looked at the soldier demo again. ok, it's especially the intro that is badly done. the rest mostly looks fine.
