This doesn't technically qualify as a 2D game (2.5D and I guess 3D now), but this news from E3 makes me think of classic, 2D adventures from the 90s. It also makes me believe that miracles may exist:

First Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father and now this (on top of all the other remakes, new installments, and new IP that has been coming out of the woodwork since Kickstarter allowed the Old Masters and indies to go around the publishers and bigger studios.
