That's like saying "Well, public service workers don't earn enough to make a decent living. Therefore, instead of fixing that problem, we should make it our agenda to lower all wages enough so everyone has a shitty live."

It's a good thing Zoe got called out. Period, everything else will send the message that that's totally A-Ok to do. That there are other issues in this world, well, no one is denying that, but that's beyond the point. "Well, yeah, that was a shitty thing to do. But the world totally sucks anyways so who cares" is a pretty pathetic point of view, if you ask me.
