I wrote a small program which let you draw black and white tree or bush shapes very easy and fast. To be used with your paintprogram and its masking tools for deko sprites or climbing plants.
I wrote this little program because i didn't find a brush FX in Gimp or other progs, which did that what I wanted.
Playtest around with Treeshaper, perhaps you find it useful.
Treeshaper is Freeware and should run on Win 95 to Win 10, 32 bit.
